Executive summary
In the energy sector, digital transformations never materialize overnight.
They occur in phases. Starting from control rooms to clouds, moving from intuition to insight, culminating in operations with smart, future-ready systems. Along the way, complexity can add up, which could potentially offset the long-term wins made possible by digitalization.
Enerjisa Üretim, Turkey’s leading energy generation company, recognized this truth before its digital transformation began. Therefore, the vision was to turn data into a living asset, one that could see, learn, and predict.
The challenge? Doing so with systems that didn’t just look good on paper, but actually worked in real-world scenarios.
That is why Enerjisa Üretim chose Senkron Digital as its digitalization partner. Together, they built a foundation that now powers 31 plants spanning hydro, wind, solar, natural gas, and lignite, and nearly 4.2 GW of capacity across the country.

THE CHALLENGE OF SCALE
31 plants
Hydro, wind, solar, natural gas, and lignite
4.2 GW (Approx)
Capacity across Turkey
50,000+ signals
Flowing into the ROC across sites and assets
As a digitalization partner, Senkron Digital designed and built a unified digital architecture capable of scaling with Turkey’s growing energy demands
Laying the foundation for digital intelligence
Senkron Digital began by helping Enerjisa Üretim rethink its digital core from the ground up.
Instead of lifting and shifting legacy systems into the cloud, the transformation started fresh. It began with a cloud-native rebuild on Microsoft Azure, designed for performance, scalability, and data resilience.
With Senkron Digital at the helm, Enerjisa Üretim consolidated its operational and business data into a single, secure Azure Data Lake, creating one source of truth across all of its facilities. Senkron Digital also deployed Microsoft 365 E5 and Power BI, combining maintenance, forecasting, and performance tracking into a single narrative. These advanced analytics gave teams decision-making abilities in real time.
The outcome: Engineers, operators, and executives are in the loop, no matter where they are.
Turning insight into action: The Senkron Digital ROC
Two years into the partnership, the Remote Operation Center (ROC) was deployed. This is a 24/7, state-of-the-art, digital command hub that monitors hydropower, wind, and solar plants.
Every second, over 50,000 signals flow into the ROC from field sensors, turbines, and SCADA systems. The center is provisioned with an advanced analytics layer on the Azure IoT Hub. This layer processes all incoming data to identify patterns, predict anomalies, and recommend interventions before disruptions occur.
Maintenance teams are dispatched only when alerts demand it. Two fully autonomous “dark plants” now operate without permanent on-site staff, managed remotely with precision and confidence.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft HoloLens became a bridge between the field and the control room, allowing engineers to collaborate through augmented reality. Experts could inspect 3D digital twins of turbines, verify temperature readings, and execute maintenance tasks in real time, all without leaving the safety of their desks.
This was the first field test of the digital transformation, during one of the greatest disruptions of modern times.
The system held its own, proving that Enerjisa Üretim had a level of control that doesn’t just optimize operations, but transforms them entirely.
Securing the digital core
With digitalization came another frontier: Protection.
As the energy network became smarter, so did the threat landscape. A single breach could bring operations to a halt.
Senkron Digital designed a dedicated Operational Technology Security Operation Center (OT SOC) beside the ROC. This OT SOC is the first of its kind in Turkey’s energy sector. It processes over 3.3 million security events daily, correlating data from Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Microsoft Defender for IoT across every plant.
What makes the OT SOC highly effective is its hybrid expertise. The system is tailored specifically for cybersecurity in energy operations. This enables it to distinguish between real threats and routine anomalies.
• False positives drop.
• Response time improves.
• Downtime is prevented before it begins.
Adding foresight with AI
Once the foundations of monitoring and security were in place, Senkron Digital took the next step in the process: Intelligence.
With OnePact AI, built on Azure OpenAI Service, Enerjisa Üretim can now analyze over 40,000 IoT data points alongside operational data. This helps the module uncover insights almost instantly.
What once required teams of analysts can now be done with a simple prompt. The lead time between receiving raw data and making accurate decisions based on it is also drastically reduced.
Predictive models built with Azure Machine Learning forecast generated output, detect anomalies, and even estimate turbine efficiency weeks ahead. They also factor in weather, asset health, and site conditions for pinpoint accuracy.
Senkron Digital has helped make AI a trusted assistant that helps Enerjisa Üretim make faster, smarter, and safer decisions in real time.
Real tech, real results, and real efficiency
Since embarking on its digitalization journey with Senkron Digital, Enerjisa Üretim has transformed the way energy intelligence works.
Downtime has been reduced through predictive maintenance.
Uptime and reliability have improved across assets.
Decisions are faster, safer, and data-driven.
Security posture is stronger, with proactive OT monitoring.
Apart from operational outcomes, the partnership has created a new benchmark for Turkey’s energy industry, proving that digitalization, when done right, delivers tangible, lasting value.

"Our collaboration with Enerjisa Üretim started with just technology, but it has now grown into a shared exploration of how data, intelligence, and trust come together to power the future of energy."

For Senkron Digital, this collaboration was never a one-off project. It was the start of a shared journey. Together with Enerjisa Üretim, new frontiers are already being explored: from ESG data integration and carbon intelligence to expanding digital operations support for other regional energy generators.
Digitalization is a continuum. It demands continuous improvement and innovation. In this landscape, Senkron Digital stands as a trusted partner, helping operators turn complexity into confidence and scale to the edge of their ambition.
